Wrap-Around/Virtual
Doula Support

You are embarking on life’s greatest journey - whether you're travelling this epic path for the first time, or this is your 6th time, I would be honoured to be a part of your birth team.

What is a wrap-around doula & virtual doula?

A wrap-around doula & virtual doula is a skilled companion who will provide emotional & practical support to you and your family, as you walk the incredible path of pregnancy and parenthood.  The support I provide can be virtual (via zoom, phone calls, what’s app and email) or if you live nearby there is the opportunity to have a blend of in-person support for the antenatal & postpartum period and virtual support.

How is a wrap-around doula & virtual doula different to a birth doula?

During pregnancy;

As your wrap-around doula or virtual doula or birth doula, I will provide the same emotional and practical support during your pregnancy. I will be there to support you before and after hospital/midwife/consultant appointments.  I will provide any up-to-date evidence based information needed to help you as you choose the care that is best for you and your baby.  I will deliver my full antenatal & hypnobirthing course to you.  We will explore birth options and birth plan writing together.

During birth;

While a birth doula will attend your labour in-person to provide physical support, as your wrap-around doula or virtual doula I will provide support to you and/or your birth partner via phone.  This type of support can be incredible reassuring for birth partners - to know they have someone at the end of the phone to be a sounding board, to provide information on the options presented by your health care professionals.  To support them, to support you.

What are the benefits of hiring a wrap-around or virtual doula?

Take a moment to sit there and imagine what it would feel like to continue your pregnancy feeling completely prepared, calm & confident.

How it would feel to understand the physiologies of birth and your beautiful birthing body.  To feel empowered to feel confident that your body contains so much wisdom, and has what is needs to allow birth to unfold naturally.

And how it would feel knowing you had someone on the end of the phone who will hold space for you during this tender time.  Who will support you emotionally & practically, who will answer your questions, help you prepare for antenatal appointments with your health care provider (if you are engaging with the service) and provide evidence-based information to support you as you make important decisions about YOUR pregnancy and birth.

Now, imagine how it would feel to have support for your birth partner.  Someone available to be that sounding board, someone who can answer their questions and offer reassurance.  And when they day comes and you are in labour, your birth partner has someone to call upon to support them advocate for your birth wishes.

Finally, imagine how it would feel to have a consistent person during your pregnancy and labour, providing continuity of care, that we all crave during the most important time in our life.

If this sounds like the dreamy pregnancy and birth experience you are hoping for, read on.

Another huge benefit of hiring a virtual doula is the investment.  Unfortunately not all families have the financial means to hire a birth doula - a virtual doula is an excellent alternative.

How is the feeling of confidence, empowerment and calm achieved?

This is absolutely achievable when you hire me as your wrap-around or virtual doula.

You will complete my comprehensive, antenatal course (that includes full birth preparation, hypnobirthing, mindful breastfeeding and postpartum planning see below for full details). There is no other course around quite as in depth as this one! And by completing my course, you will have all of the information, resources and tools to support you as your journey through your pregnancy.

What’s more, I will be available to support you via phone, email and what’s app PLUS we will meet in-person or virtually to talk about anything you like.  We may talk about an upcoming antenatal appointment, we may talk about things going on at work or within your relationship/family.  The time will be dedicated to allowing you to move through what is going on with you.

And, I will be available to support you and your birth partner (via phone or what's app) during your labour.
